Radiofrequency liposuction of knees – BodyTite

To get rid of the fat pads around the knee is not only difficult, in some cases it is even impossible. No regular sport activity or reduction diets have an effect on this. The organism is simply coded to store fat precisely in this area. Therefore, even extremely thin individuals suffer from “thick” knees. Amazing results can be achieved with a short surgery using liposuction. Modern radiofrequency liposuction called BodyTite is even more gentle in combination with the radiofrequency energy (RFAL). Therefore, you lose the excess fat around knees once and for all.

Anesthesia: Majority of procedures are done in general anesthesia due to comfort of the clients.

WHAT TO START WITH BEFORE THE PROCEDURE

Go for a consultation

You may see yourself in shorts and skirts already but scheduling the procedure is inevitably preceded by a pre-surgery consultation. You will be taken care of directly by a plastic surgeon (that means the most competent specialist) at the Aesthevita plastic surgery clinic. Ask questions about anything you are curious about. Among other things you will get to know if it is enough for your figure to suck the fat out of your knees. It is not rare that this type of procedure is combined with liposuction of the inner thighs for the best overall effect.

Where exercise is not enough, liposuction steps in

Each organism tends to store fat in certain areas. Both men and women fight the accumulation of fat around the knees. In contrary to other part of the legs, the knees cannot be naturally shaped by exercising and strict dietary habits have almost no influence on them. While you are fighting this imperfection for years, the surgical removal of fat using liposuction takes only a few moments and removes the unattractive pads forever.

Right before the surgery

The date of the procedure is coming but before you step in to the operation room, you undergo pre-surgery examination with blood sampling and an ECG. Patients aged over 60 undergo an x-ray of the lungs as well, for smokers the age limit is set at 50+.

WHAT IS HAPPENING UNDER THE HANDS OF A SURGEON

Do not be afraid of visible scars

Sucking the fat out during the process of liposuction BodyTite is performed by very thin cannulas which do not leave profound bruises. Radiofrequency energy effectively dissolves redundant fat and its subsequent sucking is less traumatic for the body. At the same time, this has a very positive effect on smoothing the skin with cellulite. Moreover, it minimizes the creation of post-surgery haematomas and bruises. Stitching the wounds with absorbable sutures and application of sterile bandage come at the end of the surgery.

Decide on the type of anaesthesia

The liposuction is performed under both local and general anaesthesia. The second option is more comfortable for the patients – it is painless, which will be particularly appreciated by men. If you decide for local anaesthesia anyway, take into account the fact that you will feel the pressure of the cannula through which the surgeon sucks the fat out.

How much fat can the surgeon suck out?

During the liposuction, the fat leaves the body together with blood. Therefore, the surgeon can suck out only a certain amount. When you solve a simple mathematical task, the result will be clear. Calculate 1 % of your weight and multiply it by four or five. The result is the maximum amount of fat which can be sucked out during one liposuction procedure. Nevertheless, it is still true that the surgeon can suck out no more than 5 litres of fat during one surgery regardless the weight of the patient.

THE WAYS IN WHICH I CAN SUPPORT RECOVERY

Schedule time off

The tumescent liposuction in combination with radiofrequency energy is less demanding for the patient and the process of recovery is faster than for conventional liposuction. But resting is still necessary shortly after the procedure and some bruises and swelling may appear. After you spend a week resting, you can return to your normal activities. You will be able to do sports and other physically demanding activities approximately 4 weeks after the surgery.

There is no way without the compression garment

You will be accompanied all the time by a compression garment for six weeks after the surgery. Take it off only for a moment – for a shower for example. It prevents creating more bruises and facilitates healing. When the scabs disappear from your scars, you can start with a gentle pressure massage. It will ensure the scars remain elastic and it will significantly help their healing.

The curves will gradually become visible

The body gradually gets into shape after the surgery. Do not be surprised if you have the impression that your hips have not been reduced as you expected even after a few weeks. It will improve but it may not happen until the last bruise disappears.

HOW IT WILL CHANGE MY LIFE

The fat will not return to the treated areas

We are born with a certain number of fat cells. They behave according to our genetic predisposition and the care we provide to our body. Knee liposuction will get rid of the unattractive fat pads. The removed fat cells will not come back so the fat cannot be stored in the body parts treated during the liposuction procedure anymore.

The fat is not stored in the treated body parts after the liposuction but the body can handle it easily. It will find different body parts where it can store the fat, so the key to keeping your modelled figure is to think about your lifestyle. Compensate a sedentary occupation with regular exercises and cross out most of your bad dietary habits.
