Do you choose your clothes to hide your thighs and always have something on your legs when wearing a swimsuit? Modelling the outer thighs using liposuction (often performed in combination with hip or buttock liposuction) will help you with problematic parts of your body and will restore your self-confidence. The same applies for men whose organism tends to store fat in the thighs. These are influenced by changes in the metabolism as we age, genetic predispositions and a lifestyle.

WHAT TO START WITH BEFORE THE PROCEDURE
Ask questions and get advice
Have you decided to make a change and you want to take action? That’s great! Make an appointment for a consultation where you will get to know everything about the procedure. You will be taken care of directly by a plastic surgeon at the Aesthevita plastic surgery clinic. He/she will recommend you how much fat and from which areas would be appropriate to suck out. Do not be surprised if he/she suggests sucking out the fat from more than one body part. It is not always enough to suck out the fat from one body part for the desired body shape.
It starts and ends with the liposuction
If you get sad every time you look in the mirror, it is the right time to do something about it. We are born with a certain number of fat cells and a predisposition where the subcutaneous fat will accumulate. Buttocks and thighs are usually problematic for women. The gradually slowing metabolism and a sedentary occupation also do not really help matters and that is why liposuction is such a great ally.
Right before the surgery
You’d rather see yourself after the procedure. This cannot happen without undergoing a pre-surgery examination with blood sampling and an ECG. The clients aged over 60 undergo an x-ray of the lungs as well, for smokers the age limit is lowered to 50+.
WHAT IS HAPPENING UNDER THE HANDS OF A SURGEON
Scars as thin as the diameter of the cannula
It is finally the time for the procedure! The surgeon applies a special solution into the subcutaneous tissue at the very moment when the anaesthesia starts to work. Your subcutaneous fat will be dissolved better thanks to it and will be sucked out. The surgeon removes the fat using a cannula connected to the device generating suction. It has a diameter of only a few millimetres and the scars remaining after the procedure will be of the same diameter. Stitching the wounds with absorbable sutures and application of a sterile bandage come at the end of the surgery.
Local or general?
The liposuction is performed under both local and general anaesthesia. The second option is more comfortable for the patients; there is no pain at all. Did you choose local anaesthesia anyway? Then take into account that you will feel the pressure of the cannula through which the surgeon sucks the fat out.
How much fat does the surgeon suck out?
During the liposuction, the fat leaves the body together with blood. The surgeon is therefore allowed to remove only a certain maximum amount of fat. Calculate 1 % of your weight and multiply it by four or five. The result is the maximum amount of fat which can be sucked out during one liposuction procedure. Nevertheless, it is still true that the surgeon can suck out no more than 5 litres of fat during one surgery regardless the weight of the patient.
THE WAYS IN WHICH I CAN SUPPORT RECOVERY
Allow yourself a week of laziness
Do not count on being able to handle everything at home straight away. The doctor will tell you to rest for a week after the procedure. The bruises and swelling will disappear within three weeks. Approximately six weeks is enough to recover and start doing sports again and handle your usual physical activities. Massage the treated area during your recovery. It significantly promotes the proper healing of the scarred subcutaneous tissue.
Tight garment will make the healing faster
You won’t feel enormously attractive in it but the purpose of wearing a compression garment is healing. Take it off only when it’s necessary during the whole period of recovery – for a shower.
Tip: We recommend wearing and changing at least two compression garments in order for the wounds to be constantly in a clean environment. You can wash the clothes on a daily basis in the first days after the surgery.
It takes time until the final body shape is visible
Patience is a virtue and it is necessary after liposuction. The treated body parts may be finding their final shape even for several months. No worries, you will see the curves you are looking for when you stand in front of the mirror soon. Although, it won’t be right after the last bruise disappears or after you stop wearing the compression garment.
HOW IT WILL CHANGE MY LIFE
How to keep the achieved body shape?
The fat cells act according to our genetic predisposition. It also depends on how we take care of our body. The liposuction can get rid of the fat cells but it is not omnipotent. Promise yourself that before the procedure you will end with the old bad habits and you will change your lifestyle after the recovery. This way you will keep your modelled figure.
The fat is no longer stored in the treated body parts after the liposuction. The fat cells are gone from there for good. But our body will deal with it without problems. It will find another part where the fat can be stored. That is why keeping the desired figure needs your effort. Good dietary habits should go hand in hand with exercising. Even small things count – go for a walk and take the stairs instead of using the elevator.
The price of the procedure is final, everything necessary is already calculated. It specifically includes the following:
- A consultation with the plastic surgeon
- Compressive postoperative halter garment
- The procedure itself
- A stay at the clinic after the surgery
- A package with postoperative care
