Circumcision

Do you deal with a problem you are ashamed of talking about when washing your intimate parts every day? The solution may be circumcision – a minor surgical procedure which solves both physical and aesthetic issues. The so-called phimosis (the constricted foreskin) poses a constraint in daily hygiene which can lead to inflammations and other medical inconvenience which influence not only man’s self-confidence but also his sexual life. The foreskin (or skinfold) is partially or completely removed from the penis during the circumcision. Although there are a lot of men who fear circumcision, it is an easy and fast procedure that brings patients more than one benefit.

WHAT TO START WITH BEFORE THE PROCEDURE

The surgeon will make things clear

You get the answers to your questions at the pre-surgery consultation. You will be taken care of directly by a plastic surgeon (that means the most competent specialist) at the Aesthevita plastic surgery clinic. You will talk about the ideal solution and you have the possibility to ask him early on about each of your concerns. So you leave after the consultation with a clearer image of the process and the outcome of the planned surgery.

Circumcision is a standard in America

While there are 70 per cent of men circumcised in the US, it is only a tiny fraction in the EU – perhaps around 5%. In Europe and the Czech Republic as well, circumcision is performed on men particularly for health reasons, due to complications with their sexual life or hygiene. Circumcision can be performed even for the aesthetic modification of the penis or other client wishes. It is a basic procedure after which the full recovery comes about within a few weeks.

The most common reasons for circumcision are: Phimosis, due to which the foreskin is so constricted that the foreskin cannot be retracted over the glans. Then paraphimosis, an inborn disposition, with which it is possible to retract the foreskin over the glans but it restricts its blood supply which is called strangulation. Another reasons are common bacterial and mycotic infections or even chronic inflammation.

Right before the surgery

Before the procedure, you undergo a pre-surgery examination with blood sampling and ECG. The patients aged over 60 undergo an x-ray of the lungs as well, for smokers the age limit is set at 50+.

WHAT IS HAPPENING UNDER THE HANDS OF A SURGEON

Choose the type of anaesthesia

Circumcision is usually performed under local anaesthesia but, if the client wishes, it is possible to use analgosedation or general anaesthesis as well. But short hospitalization with bed rest is necessary after that. After local anaesthesia, the patient is discharged from the clinic immediately after the procedure into domiciliary treatment.

As soon as anaesthesia starts to work, the surgeon gently removes part of the foreskin or the entire foreskin. The scope of the act depends on the prior consultation with the patient and his individual reasons for the surgery. At the end of the surgery, the surgeon stitches the wound with absorbable sutures and applies a sterile bandage. The surgery takes a mere half hour

THE WAYS IN WHICH I CAN SUPPORT RECOVERY

Schedule a time off

Stick to a leisurely regime for at least the first few days after surgery. The wounds will get time for proper healing and you will find out that the less movement the more comfortable you will feel. You will be out off the worst phase in a week.

Improved hygiene and sexual restraint

Initially, wash your intimate areas after each usage of the toilet and whenever you feel it is appropriate. Strict hygiene minimizes the risk of infection in a healing wound. Take a break from sports and your sexual life for 4 weeks. Then your body will be ready again for a normal life without restrictions.

You can cool the wound

Besides a leisurely regime immediately after the surgery, it is also helpful to cool the wounds to reduce swelling and haematoma emergence. You can use for example hydrogel cooling pads.

HOW IT WILL CHANGE MY LIFE

Discover the benefits of circumcision

If your foreskin was the reason for long-term and unpleasant health problems, you will get rid of them thanks to circumcision. The restrictions for hygiene will disappear for good and their consequences as well. Moreover, a lot of men and women find a penis after circumcision more aesthetically pleasing than before. If you are one of them, enjoy newly gained self-confidence after the surgery.

A lot of men say they enjoy a better experience during sex after circumcision. Therefore in the course of time, you might also discover other benefits that result from the procedure in addition to health and aesthetic benefits.
