Radiofrequency liposuction of arms – BodyTite

Are you one of the women who try to hide thick arms instead of bigger buttocks or abdomen? Only a few weeks is enough for you to finally get short-sleeve t-shirts or even spaghetti strap tank tops. The same is true for men who would like to gently get rid of the accumulated fat stored in the arms. The modern liposuction with BodyTite differs from usual liposuction because it is gentler and has greater impact on smoothing the skin through a combination of radiofrequency energy (RFAL).

Anesthesia: Majority of procedures are done in general anesthesia due to comfort of the clients.
Duration of operation: 1 – 2 hours
Convalescence: 4-6 weeks

WHAT TO START WITH BEFORE THE PROCEDURE

Consultation is necessary

Before you go shopping to get the tank top of your dreams for summer, make an appointment for the pre-surgery consultation. The consultation precedes every procedure. You will be taken care of directly by a plastic surgeon (that means the most competent specialist) at the Aesthevita plastic surgery clinic. Ask questions about anything you are curious about. So you will get to know the specific recommendations from the doctor and will leave with a clearer image of the process and the outcome of the planned surgery.

Where exercise is not enough, liposuction will help

Each organism tends to store fat in certain areas. Do you struggle when fighting with accumulated fat in the arms? Exercising does not make the arms thinner; on the contrary, the muscles will be more defined thanks to it. If your only aim is – to get rid of the fat in this area – liposuction is one of the easiest solutions. And the effect is guaranteed.

Right before the surgery

Before the procedure, you undergo the pre-surgery examination with blood sampling and an ECG. The patients aged over 60 undergo an x-ray of the lungs as well, for smokers the age limit is set at 50+.

WHAT IS HAPPENING UNDER THE HANDS OF A SURGEON

Choose the type of anaesthesia

The liposuction is performed under both local and general anaesthesia. The second option is more comfortable for the patients because there is no pain at all. If you decide for local anaesthesia, take into account the fact that you will feel the pressure of the cannula through which the surgeon sucks the fat out.

Sucking the fat out during the process of liposuction BodyTite is performed by very thin cannulas which do not leave profound bruises. Radiofrequency energy effectively dissolves redundant fat and its subsequent sucking is less traumatic for the body. At the same time, this energy has a very positive effect on smoothing the skin with cellulite thanks to warming the skin and the subcutaneous tissue. Moreover, it minimizes the creation of post-surgery haematomas and bruises. Stitching the wounds with absorbable sutures and application of sterile bandage come at the end of the surgery.

THE WAYS IN WHICH I CAN SUPPORT RECOVERY

Schedule time off

The tumescent liposuction in combination with radiofrequency energy is less demanding for the patient and the process of recovery is faster than for conventional liposuction. But resting is still necessary shortly after the procedure and some bruises and swelling may appear. After you spend a week resting, you can return to your normal activities. You will be able to do sports and other physically demanding activities approximately 4 weeks after the surgery.

Wear compression garment

You will be accompanied by a compression garment for six weeks after the surgery all the time. Take it off only for a moment – for a shower for example. It prevents creating more bruises and facilitates healing. When the scabs disappear from your scars, you can start with gentle pressure massage. It will ensure the scars remain elastic and it will significantly help their healing.

The curves will gradually become visible

The body gradually gets into shape after the surgery. Do not be surprised if you have the impression that your arms have not been reduced as you expected even after a few weeks. It will improve but it may not happen until the last bruise disappears.

HOW IT WILL CHANGE MY LIFE

The fat will not return to the treated areas

We are born with a certain number of fat cells. They behave according to our genetic predisposition and the care we provide to our body. The removed fat cells will not come back so the fat cannot be stored in the body parts treated during the liposuction procedure anymore.

The fat is not stored in the treated areas after the liposuction but the body cannot be fooled so easily. It will find another part where the fat can be stored. You’re the one who knows your own body the best. Do you eat whatever you want and still not gain any weight? Then you do not need to change anything essential. But if your weight changes with each calorie above your usual diet, keeping the modelled figure will require your effort. Compensate a sedentary occupation with regular exercises and cross out most of your bad dietary habits.
