A Guide to Plastic Operations
What woman doesn’t want slim legs that both gentlemen and women look at with envy? For some women, it is only their calves getting in the way of slim legs. Instead of despairing in changing rooms in shops and at home in front of your mirror, all you need is a simple procedure - liposuction. Liposuction will help you get rid of fat on your calves quickly and permanently.
- ANAESTHESIA: Majority of procedures are done in general anesthesia due to comfort of the clients.
- THE DURATION OF THE SURGERY: 1 – 2 hours
- RECOVERY: 4-6 weeks
You will be taken care of directly by a plastic surgeon during the consultation
Choose a convenient date of the surgery at the Aesthevita plastic surgery clinic
You will go through the necessary medical examination before the procedure
Relax during your recovery so the wounds would heal well
WHAT TO START WITH BEFORE THE PROCEDURE
Get a consultation
Whether you are sure you want to have liposuction or not, a preopoerative consultation will help you make up your mind. At the Aesthevita clinic you will receive a consultation by a plastic surgeon. Show him which areas bother you the most. The doctor will then tell you if he would remove fat from only one area or a combination of two or three areas.
Liposuction is not omnipotent
Each body has a tendency to store fat in certain areas. The most problematic areas in women are the legs - especially their buttocks, hips and thighs. The older we get, the slower our metabolism is. We begin to store increasing amounts of fat, especially without a reasonable lifestyle combined with a sedentary job.
Liposuction is not a method for losing weight, it helps shape your figure. It is not a replacement for a healthy diet and lifestyle. Part of the work is therefore up to you, but liposuction will become your strong ally.
Right before the surgery
Your surgery date is nearing and you are probably already picturing yourself in a short skirt or shorts. But before you enter the operating room, you will undergo a preoperative blood and ECG test. Patients over the age of 60 will also undergo a lung X-ray; for smokers the age limit is 50+.
WHAT IS HAPPENING UNDER THE HANDS OF A SURGEON
Almost no scars
During the VASER Lipo liposuction, the fat is extracted with very thin cannulas that leave no noticeable bruising. The ultrasonic probe mechanically breaks up the fat cells, which crack under the influence of the waves, making it easier to remove them with the cannula. The VASER Lipo device minimizes postoperative hematoma and bruising. The quality of VASER Lipo is attested to by its approval by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). After the procedure, the wounds are closed with absorbable sutures and sterile bandages are applied.
General or local?
The liposuction is performed both under local and general anesthesia. The second option is more comfortable for the patients, because it doesn't hurt a bit. If you opt for local anesthesia for whatever reason, expect to feel the pressure of the cannula as the surgeon extracts the fat.
How much fat does the surgeon suck out?
The fat leaves the body along with blood during the liposuction. It is therefore only possible to extract a certain amount. Calculate 1% of your body weight and multiply it by four or five. The result is the maximum amount of fat that you can get rid of during one procedure. Another rule is that regardless of the patient's weight, the surgeon will never extract more than 5 liters of fat in one procedure.
THE WAYS IN WHICH I CAN SUPPORT RECOVERY
Take a rest
Ultrasonic liposuction is less demanding for patients, and the recovery process is faster than after conventional liposuction. Nevertheless, it is necessary to rest shortly after the procedure, and minor bruising may occur. After a week of resting, you can slowly return to your normal activities. You can do sports and other physically demanding activities about 4-6 weeks after the procedure.
Compression garment – a loyal companion
For six weeks after the procedure, you will need to wear compression underwear. It prevents further bruising and facilitates healing. If you undergo the liposuction during the warmer season and you're afraid that your calves will sweat in the underwear, buy another pair. The wounds should be kept clean shortly after the surgery.
The curves will gradually become visible
It takes the body a while to deflate after the liposuction. You might not see your dream curves immediately after the last bruise disappears, you just need to be patient.
HOW IT WILL CHANGE MY LIFE
Keeping the good figure is not easily achieved
We are born with a certain amount of fat cells. We therefore cannot change our predisposition to higher weight gain. Our fat cells behave according to our genetic predispositions, as well as according to how we take care of our bodies. Although liposuction can rid the body of a part of the fat cells, it is not omnipotent. You therefore need to forget about your old lifestyle habits or limit them to special occasions.
Although your body will no longer store fat in the treated areas, you can't trick your body. It will find other places to store fat. You know yourself best. Can you eat whatever you want without gaining one gram? Then there is no need to change anything. However, if you gain weight after every extra calorie, maintaining your new figure will require your effort. Compensate for your sedentary job with regular exercise and try to change your diet.
The price of the procedure is final, everything necessary is already calculated. It specifically includes the following:
- A consultation with the plastic surgeon
- Compressive postoperative halter garment
- The procedure itself
- A package with postoperative care
