WHAT TO START WITH BEFORE THE PROCEDURE
Sometimes, combining is a must
By deciding to undergo the VASER Lipo ultrasonic liposuction, you are taking a step towards a better figure. Each procedure is preceded by a preoperative consultation with a plastic surgeon at the Aesthevita clinic. You will tell the doctor what you want to change on your body, and he will give you a specific plan for the procedure. Sometimes the surgeon may recommend the removal of fat from two or three areas at once for a better result.
In men with a typical "beer" belly, the result of the liposuction may not be so visible, because many of them do not store fat in subcutaneous tissue but around their internal organs instead, from where the surgeon cannot remove fat. This may also be the subject of the preoperative consultation.
Do not only rely on liposuction
Do you feel like you've tried everything and you still can't get rid of the fat on your belly? Our predisposition to the accumulation of unsightly subcutaneous fat is genetic. Women mostly deal with larger buttocks and fat on their hips and thighs. However, belly fat is no exception. In men, the abdominal area, back and chin are the most susceptible to the accumulation of fat. In older age, the metabolism becomes less and less collaborative and the amount of accumulated fat increases. But we do have one ally - liposuction.
Right before the procedure
During your impatient countdown to the procedure, you will undergo preoperative blood and ECG tests. Patients over the age of 60 will also undergo a lung X-ray; for smokers the age limit is 50+.
WHAT IS HAPPENING UNDER THE HANDS OF A SURGEON
Almost no scarring
During the VASER Lipo liposuction, the fat is extracted with very thin cannulas that leave no noticeable bruising. The ultrasonic probe mechanically breaks up the fat cells, which crack under the influence of the waves, making it easier to remove them with the cannula. The VASER Lipo device minimizes postoperative hematoma and bruising. The quality of VASER Lipo is attested to by its approval by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). After the procedure, the wounds are closed with absorbable sutures and sterile bandages are applied.
Choose the type of anaesthesia conscientiously
The liposuction is performed under both local and general anesthesia. The second option is more comfortable for the patients - it doesn't hurt a bit, which is especially appreciated by men. Did you choose local anesthesia? Then you must expect to have to bear the pressure of the cannula used by the surgeon to extract the fat.
How much fat does the surgeon suck out?
The fat leaves the body along with blood during the liposuction. It is therefore only possible to extract a certain amount. Calculate 1% of your body weight and multiply it by four or five. The result is the maximum amount of fat that you can get rid of during one procedure. Another rule is that regardless of the patient's weight, the surgeon will never extract more than 5 liters of fat in one procedure.
THE WAYS IN WHICH I CAN SUPPORT RECOVERY
Take a rest
Ultrasonic liposuction is less demanding for patients, and the recovery process is faster than in conventional liposuction. Nevertheless, it is necessary to rest shortly after the procedure, and minor bruising may occur. After a week of resting, you can slowly return to your normal activities. You can do sports and other physically demanding activities about 4-6 weeks after the procedure.
Tight garment that heals
For six weeks after the surgery you will be constantly wearing compression underwear. Only remove it for short periods of time. It prevents further bruising and facilitates healing. Once the scabs fall off, you can start to gently massage the area.
The desired curves will become visible gradually
After the liposuction, the body gradually deflates. Don't be surprised if you feel like your arms are not as slim as you would like them to be after a few weeks. It will happen, but perhaps not immediately after the last bruise disappears.
HOW IT WILL CHANGE MY LIFE
Change your habits
Our fat cells behave according to our genetic predispositions, as well as according to how we take care of our bodies. Although liposuction can rid the body of a part of the fat cells, it is not omnipotent. Before the procedure, promise yourself that you will drop your old habits and change your lifestyle after your recovery. This will help you maintain your newly shaped figure.
After the liposuction, your body will no longer store fat in the treated areas. Those areas have said goodbye to fat cells. However, it's not that easy to trick your body. It will find other areas to store the fat, and so maintaining the curves of your dreams will require some effort on your part. Examine your diet and the amount of exercise you get. Even small things count - go for walks, and replace the lift with stairs on your way home or to work.
The price of the procedure is final, everything necessary is already calculated. It specifically includes the following:
- A consultation with the plastic surgeon
- Compressive postoperative halter garment
- The procedure itself
- A package with postoperative care
